V-Groove 2x6x16' #2 Pine

The 2x6 pine T&G V-Groove works well for ceilings where the boards will provide more structural support than 1” boards. They also are used for second floor covered decks (as long as they will not be exposed to rain and other moisture), where the V-Grove side can face downward as a ceiling for the first floor, while the flat T&G side makes the floor of the second-story deck. This removes the need for a subfloor, allowing one installation to serve as both the ceiling to the room below and the floor of the deck. 

Kiln-dried southern yellow pine takes a finish very well, and can be clear-coated with polyurethane to maintain its natural bright yellow luster, or whitewashed. Southern Yellow pine is one of the most versatile woods in terms of how well it takes a variety of stains, paints, and finishes. The boards are planed smooth, and are unsanded and unfinished. Sanding is optional, recommended but not required. 

These boards may be installed for outside siding/cladding provided that proper water-resistant painting, staining, or waterproofing sealing is applied. It is not recommended to install these boards on exterior decks that will be exposed to rain or other significant moisture, as the boards are untreated and will decay in the presence of moisture, especially in the tongue and groove interlock, where moisture can be trapped.
